Attack 9 description:
Pronounced freesha. Southern California electronics. Slower Than Church Music, Freescha's second full length on their own Attacknine label, brings 10 songs from the creative pairing & friendship of the San Fernando Valley born Nick Huntington and Michael McGroarty. Their Californian brand of organic electronic songs are observed and enjoyed by fans the world over, as well as by other music figures such as; Two Lone Swordsmen, Moby, Casino Versus Japan, Hermann & Klein, Opiate, Manual, and Marumari. Freescha was chosen for URB magazine's "Next 100" artists to watch for in their year-end special issue. Darker territories are explored here than on the previous "Kids Fill the Floor"'s surf imbued pastoralisms. The moss & murk have flourished on the piano keys and drums to further bring into temporary focus, Freescha's love for the lost & obscured. Wind chimes on a space platform are the last place you remember being. Recommended for fans of Organ music, wood folk, Tones on Tail, grimbly-grumblies, the Abominable Snowman, candelabrums, and ghosts. Future projects: Split 12"/CD with artist, Casino Versus Japan (3 exclusive tracks) Miy Paluk records (UK label) will feature a Freescha track on their upcoming compilation. Freescha are currently writing & recording for what will be their next album scheduled for release in 2004.
"A ghostly, timeless, parallell, otherworldlyness pervades every track taking it way beyond mere zeros and ones. File under church music from distant galaxies" -Andrew Weatherall (Two Lone Swordsmen, WARP)
"i swear i've listened to those freescha cd's more than any other cd's in the last 6 months. they're so great. i love them." -Moby
"...misters Huntington and Mcgroarty lost the map a while ago, but they've since killed the headlights and let go of the wheel, letting the logic of the lost highway guide them, at least until daybreak." -vietnambla
